How it works

A realistic speaking estimate in three steps.

Word count provides the baseline; delivery speed and pauses turn it into a useful rehearsal target.

  1. 01

    Add the script

Paste a speech, presentation, voiceover, podcast segment, video script, or talk into the private editor.

  2. 02

    Set the delivery pace

Choose a speaking-speed preset or enter a custom pace from 50 to 1,000 words per minute.

  3. 03

    Allow for pauses

Add optional time for emphasis, breaths, slide changes, and natural pauses, then compare several delivery speeds.

Built for spoken words

More context than words divided by one speed.

Adjustable speaking pace

Model a measured presentation, conversational delivery, or faster voiceover instead of relying on one fixed WPM.

Pause allowance

Add 5% to 20% for emphasis and breathing without manually changing the script or guessing extra minutes.

Useful rehearsal targets

See exact duration, a rounded speech length, expected finish time, and alternate pace estimates in one view.

Pace, pauses, rehearsals, and privacy.

How is speaking time calculated?+

Toolkit divides the script’s word count by the selected speaking speed, converts the result to seconds, and then applies any optional pause allowance.

What speaking speed should I use?+

Choose a pace that matches your delivery and audience. Use the presets as quick starting points, then adjust the WPM after timing a short rehearsal in your natural voice.

What does pause allowance include?+

It adds a percentage to the word-based estimate for breathing, emphasis, audience reaction, slide changes, demonstrations, or other moments when no words are spoken.

Can I use this for presentations and voiceovers?+

Yes. It works for speeches, presentations, narration, podcasts, video scripts, ads, announcements, and any spoken text. Add a larger pause allowance when the format includes visuals or interaction.

Is my script uploaded?+

No. The script is analyzed inside your browser, and the optional saved draft remains in local browser storage.
