Generated with the browser’s cryptographically secure random source. Nothing is sent, saved, logged, or added to browser storage. Use a password manager and a unique password for every account.

How it works

From secure randomness to safe storage.

The generator handles randomness; good password habits handle the rest. Choose enough length, keep every password unique, and store it in a password manager.

  1. 01

    Choose password or passphrase

Use maximum randomness or a longer sequence of memorable words.

  2. 02

    Set the rules

Choose length, character groups, readability options, word count, and separators.

  3. 03

    Copy and store safely

Generate again whenever needed and save the result directly in a trusted password manager.

Security without mystery

Strong generation with transparent choices.

Cryptographically secure

Random choices use the browser Web Crypto API with unbiased selection instead of Math.random.

Security with control

Require character categories, remove ambiguous characters, prevent repeats, or create a memorable passphrase.

Private by construction

Generated secrets remain in memory only. They are not uploaded, logged, saved, or placed in local storage.

Password security questions

Practical answers for safer accounts.

Is this password generator secure?+

The generator uses crypto.getRandomValues, the browser's cryptographically secure random source, and unbiased random selection. Security still depends on using sufficient length, keeping the result private, and storing it safely.

What password length should I use?+

For a fully random password, 16 characters is a practical minimum and 20 or more gives a larger safety margin. Some services impose their own maximums or character rules.

Is a passphrase as secure as a random password?+

A sufficiently long passphrase made from genuinely random words can be strong and easier to type. Do not substitute a personal quotation or a sentence you invented, because human choices are predictable.

Does Toolkit save generated passwords?+

No. Passwords and passphrases are kept only in the current page memory. They are not sent to a server or written to browser storage.

What should I do after generating a password?+

Copy it directly into the account and save it in a reputable password manager. Use a unique password for every account and enable multi-factor authentication where available.
