About Toolkit

Toolkit is a free collection of everyday web tools, built and run by Romano, an independent developer in Malta.

Why it exists

Merging two PDFs, writing an invoice or checking a word count should take a minute, not an account, a captcha or a wall of ads.

Many free tool sites make money by getting in the way, or by asking you to upload private files to a server you know nothing about. Toolkit is built the other way round: tools that do one job well, open straight into the task, and leave your files alone.

Where your files go

Most tools run entirely in your browser: the PDF, image or text you open is processed on your own device and is not uploaded.

A few tasks need a server, such as converting images with a native image library, looking up the weather, or comparing typing scores. Those tools say so on the page and in the privacy policy, and they keep nothing after the request.

How the tools are built

Each tool is written for this site, on well-known open-source engines where they exist, such as PDF.js and pdf-lib for PDFs.

Much of the code is written with the help of AI coding assistants. Before a tool ships, its results are checked against known answers and real files, and its page states its limits plainly.

What it costs

Toolkit is free to use and needs no account. Running it costs little, because most of the work happens in your browser rather than on a server.
